Everyone loves a surprise. Especially one that comes in a neat package.
This December, HEADLINE unveils a brand new packaging for all purchased items from their stores.
The homegrown apparel label, which also brings in SUPREME from New York, is
widely regarded as the top street fashion label in Singapore that caters to
the underground community. True to its brand ethos - “Heading Beyond The
Line”, the label looks set to push boundaries, even with its packaging.
On first glance, the packaging resembles that of a regular manila envelope.
But on closer look, the envelope is a working canvas for sharp graphics and
bold statements, such as “Warning: Unsuitable for ages 15 and below”.
Packages are preferably sealed, to become a perfect surprise gift for loved
ones. They can also be reused and recycled, in a bid to save the earth, as
HEADLINE aims to keep it real at all times.

Nooka is a New York fashion design company founded by artist/designer
Matthew Waldman. The ethos of nooka is universal language, which guides
the creation of products with enhanced functionality and a futurist philosophy.
Most prominently known for its line of timepieces, Nooka is expanding
their range, creating a Mindstyle™ brand with the addition of innovative
accessories and a fragrance.
The linear and graphic representation of time with Nooka timepieces presents
a more intuitive way to view time. The visual mass increases as time passes,
giving weight to an ephemeral and abstract concept. Nooka products are sold
all over the world in exclusive clothing and design object boutiques. Originally
releasing two models back in 2004, the brand has grown its line of watches
over the past four and a half years to now include six distinct displays available
in over 85 individual models in a wide array of colors and materials. A seventh
display style is set to be released this fall 2009, along with a second release
of the Nooka staple V-series leather and mesh watches.
In summer 2009, the Nooka collection was substantially expanded with the
introduction of brand new Mindstyle™ pieces beyond the watch: the Nooka
Strip (an innovative belt concept), Asset Organzier (a multi-purpose wallet
model), and the Nooka scent. All three products were inspired by and up-
hold the brand’s principle of universal communication with an emphasis on
the design process. Both the Strip and the AO utilize similar materials to the
vastly popular ZUB collection of polyurethane watches, while offering entirely
unique and customized concepts on the standard belt and wallet. Additionally,
the Nooka scent, self-titled Nooka, is a fully customized fragrance expressing
many of the futuristic and universal values of the design studio. The oil fuses
natural elements with synthetic accords, and the gem-cut, custom bottle is
reminiscent of the Nooka ideals of futurism and science.
The name Nooka was engineered by Matthew to evoke futurism by
incorporating the sound ‘nu’ from both “nuclear” and “new.” And stemming
from its New York roots, Nooka is also a contraction of “New Yorker” when said with the local accent.
The brand is proud to also include an official mascot: the NookaNooka. The
imaginative and whimsical (and to some extent science-fiction) design and
story behind the NookaNooka represents much of the design concepts behind
Nooka. As a brand, Nooka strives not just for the production of a product, but
for the promotion of a “living-through-design” approach
